Niall Connell - M.Ed.

Deputy Head of School

Niall was born and raised in Carlow, Ireland. He was granted a scholarship by the Department for Education and Skills in Ireland to attend Dublin City University, where he graduated with a BA (Hons.) in Business and Irish. This was where he had the chance to develop his love of language, linguistics, innovation and enterprise.

With a great interest in travelling, he decided to branch out into the world of teaching the English language. After spending time teaching abroad, he decided to return to his own education and fine-tune his teaching practice by completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education with an international focus, through the University of Nottingham.

Niall completed his MEd in Pastoral Care, Guidance and Pupil Support with a Distinction through the University of Aberdeen. Niall has also achieved a Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET) and is recognised by the British Psychological Society and appears on the Register of Qualifications in Test Use. Currently, he is working towards an MSc in Psychology to further enhance his practice at ISIB.

Niall has taught internationally for many years in Thailand, Oman and Denmark. He has worked with students across a range of ages - from Primary through to Secondary.

Niall feels that living and working in Denmark has been wonderful, both personally and professionally. To experience living in a forward-thinking country; working with phenomenally gifted students and creative colleagues in a dynamic and 'outside-the-box' environment, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
