Admission Policy

ISIB welcome applications from all students pursuing a school focusing on excellent academics developing individual student skills and attributes. English is the language of instruction and students will be supported to improve and develop their English language skills through their time at the school.

There may occasionally be circumstances under which a student will not be successful at ISIB when the staff resources and / or staff’s training and/or the physical environment will not be adequate to meet the needs of an applying student.

The Head of School has the right to deny admission when ISIB will not be able to deliver an environment where the student can be successful. A denial of a student is signed by the Head of School.

Failure to provide accurate information, or to disclose previous student assessments or a known learning profile requirement, may result in an admissions denial or the subsequent withdrawal of offer of enrollment.

Based on the student’s previous academic experience and ISIB administered assessment tools the school will determine year placement and other program options in the best interest of the student.
The ISIB strives to deliver a purposeful and supportive student journey through ISIB.

Any student considered by the school to be capable of attempting one or more of the Cambridge IGCSE examinations will be encouraged and supported to do so. The decision as to whether a student is able to complete all IGCSE exams is made, in consultation with the family, in the IGCSE years and will be based on academic achievement, language acquisition, demonstrated motivation, and learning support needs.

The same fundamental advice is provided to parents with students registered for the Danish FP9 exam.

Age / placement

Placement is initially reviewed according to age is following a scheme. During the final placement decision ISIB will also be looking at the student’s past academic progress from other school systems.

Admission Process
We aim to make our admissions process as simple as possible for prospective families. If you have any questions, please contact the school secretary, Ms Henny Brayd, at office@isib.dk.
Step 1
If you would like to enquire about a space for your child, we ask you to please complete the Enquiry Form. In this form we ask that you provide some information about you and your child’s current school or kindergarten if applicable. Once submitted we will get back to you and arrange a visit or online meeting where you can meet us and have questions answered.
Step 2

Once you are ready to apply for a space at ISIB for your child we kindly ask you to complete the Application Form and attach current school records (if applicable), letters of recommendation, special needs history (if any) and a recent photograph of your child. These documents will give us the best preparation when we meet you and your child.
Step 3

Once we have received the completed Application Form, we will arrange a visit or online meeting. The interview is a chance for us to learn more about your child or children, and make recommendations concerning placement or additional requirements. You and your child will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If the visit is taking place here at ISIB you will be given a tour of the school campus and Hjertet. Placement tests in English and Math may apply for some grade levels in order for us to give the best recommendation for your child's placement in our program.
If you are not in Denmark, the interview will be conducted online and possible tests will await your arrival to school.
Step 4

When your child is offered a place at ISIB following the interview we will issue an overview of the required payments to be made. These consist of the registration fee, the tuition fees for the first month, and a deposit. (The deposit is equal to two months’ tuition fees, and is returned to you when your child leaves ISIB.)
Note that all payments must be made before we can guarantee your child’s place.
Step 5

Your child’s placement in a year group is based on several factors, including age, academic attainment, and social maturity. Our preference is for children to be placed with their chronological peers as far as possible, except in cases where there is a compelling reason to do otherwise. Year group placement is made by the Head of School.
